Disneyland park experiences massive fire
On Saturday night, a huge fire erupted at Disneyland while the crowded theme park was in full swing. The blaze began on Tom Sawyer Island during the evening’s Fantasmic! show, which featured water and fireworks on the Rivers of America.
Fire engulfs Disneyland’s Maleficent dragon prop
Video footage taken by park visitors shows the Maleficent’s dragon prop fully engulfed in flames on stage. The fire started from the dragon’s face and quickly spread to its entire body.
Thick columns of black smoke were rising from the stage and could be seen all over the park. Footage captured park employees escorting the large crowds away from the waterfront viewing section and nearby rides while firefighters were trying to put out the fire.

On Saturday evening, a line of firetrucks were seen rushing to Disneyland resort as bystanders captured footage from outside the park. The fire was caused during the final showing of Fantasmic at Disneyland park, when Maleficent’s dragon prop caught fire and heavy plumes of smoke were visible throughout the park. Anaheim Fire & Rescue quickly responded and cast members were evacuated from Tom Sawyer Island. Attractions near the island were safely cleared of guests due to smoke and wind.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries were reported. The extent of the damage is currently unknown. A spokesperson for Disneyland stated that they are investigating the cause of the fire.
